Buildings & Leases Detail Section - Transactions Workspace
You can use the Buildings & Leases detail section to associate a transaction with a building or lease. However, the system does not require a building or lease on a transaction record.
Important!
In order to associate a lease with a transaction, you must first purchase Portfolio Center or the Leases workspace.
To perform actions in this detail section, you need to be able to see the Details pane. Click the List View, Summary View, and Map View buttons to toggle different content views. For more information about different content views, see the Content Views section of the Common Attributes of Workspaces page.
To add a building or lease to a transaction:

Open the Transactions workspace.

Select the transaction you want to add a building or lease to.
Read the Filters page and the Collections section of the Common Attributes of Workspaces page to learn how to filter the records in your workspace.

Select the Buildings & Leases detail section from the Detail Section menu.

Click the Add button in the toolbar on the right side of the Details pane.
The Add Building & Lease window opens.

Enter the name or ID of the building or lease in the Building / Lease type-ahead field.
Note:
If you don't know the full name of the building or lease you are looking for, you can use % as a wild card. For example, if you needed to find "Blackwood Forest Apartment Complex" but you only knew that the word "Forest" was in the name, you could search for "%forest".

Select the building/lease from the options provided in the Building / Lease type-ahead field.

Click the Save button.
The Add Building & Lease window closes. The building or lease is added to the Buildings & Leases detail section.
Important!
When you delete a lease from a transaction, the corresponding KPI record is also removed from the transaction.
To remove a building or lease from a transaction:

Open the Transactions workspace.

Select the transaction you want to remove a building or lease from.
Read the Filters page and the Collections section of the Common Attributes of Workspaces page to learn how to filter the records in your workspace.

Select the Buildings & Leases detail section from the Detail Section menu.

Select the building or lease you want to remove.

Click the Delete button in the toolbar on the right side of the Details pane.
A dialog box opens, asking you to confirm your choice.

Click the OK button.
The message closes. The building or lease is removed from the transaction.
This action gives you the ability to view a lease’s data and jump directly to the lease in the Leases workspace.
Note:
If you do not have view-access to the record you are trying to view, this action will not return any data.
To view a lease from the Buildings & Leases detail section:

Open the Transactions workspace.

Select the transaction whose lease you want to view.

Select the Buildings & Leases detail section from the Detail Section menu.

Select the lease you want to view.

Click the View Lease button in the toolbar on the right side of the Details pane.
The Leases window opens. The lease’s information appears in the window.

To view a lease in the Leases or Equipment Lease workspace, click the See in Workspace button in the toolbar on the right side of the window.
